Lankford Issues Statement on Supplemental National Security Negotiations

WASHINGTON, DC – Senator James Lankford (R-OK) sent the following statement today to provide an update on the current negotiations to add border security policy to the supplemental request from the White House:

“I have worked to finalize a border security proposal that will stop the massive flow of illegal immigration into our nation. In the past few days significant progress has been made, but there is still no final agreement, much less legislative text. It is clear there are multiple unresolved issues that will take weeks to resolve rather than hours. It is better to get this done right rather than fast. This is a complicated area of law however the issue of border security is not complicated to anyone outside of Washington, DC. I am committed to work through the next few weeks to restore order on our chaotic southern border.”
