Lankford Applauds Confirmation of Russell Vought as OMB Director

WASHINGTON, DC – Senator James Lankford (R-OK) today applauded the Senate confirmation of Russ Vought as Director of the Office of Management and Budget. Last month, Lankford encouraged the Senate to confirm Vought’s nomination in a timely manner.

“I’m grateful the Senate confirmed Russell Vought to serve as Director of the Office of Management and Budget,” said Lankford. “Russ has more than two years of leadership experience at OMB and I have no doubt this has prepared him to serve our nation well as the Director. I’m grateful for Russ’ willingness to answer the call to serve and I congratulate him on today’s confirmation.”

Vought was nominated by President Trump on March 18, 2020. Lankford has worked closely with OMB throughout the years to assess the legislative solutions to address issues affecting taxpayers and their dollars, including his strongly bipartisan, bicameral Taxpayers Right-to-Know Act, which passed the House unanimously earlier this year.
