Lankford, Inhofe Praise Nomination of Tim Downing

WASHINGTON, DC – Senators James Lankford (R-OK) and Jim Inhofe (R-OK)  praised the president’s intent to nominate Timothy Downing to serve as U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Oklahoma.

“I am grateful President Trump continues to nominate qualified individuals like Tim Downing to serve our Justice Department,” Lankford said. “He has served Oklahoma and our judicial system with distinction, and he will continue to serve our nation well as the U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Oklahoma. I look forward to a vote on his nomination on the Senate floor.”

“Tim Downing is an excellent selection for U.S. Attorney,” Inhofe said. “After working as a legal fellow in my office, Tim has gone on to serve the State of Oklahoma in multiple capacities, including in the Oklahoma Attorney General’s office, as a state legislator and as counsel to the Secretary of State—as well as a Judge Advocate General in the Army Reserves. I’m confident he will serve Oklahomans well in this new role, and look forward to his confirmation.”
