Senator Lankford Announces Staff Hires
WASHINGTON, DC – Senator James Lankford (R-OK) today announced the hires of Emily Bishop and Mason McMillan as Staff Assistants in the Washington, DC office. As staff assistants, Bishop and McMillan will be the first encounter to assist Oklahomans on the phone and in person with requests such as Capitol tours, sending US flags that have flown over the US Capitol, in addition to hearing about their opinions and ideas for federal policy.
“I am grateful to Emily and Mason for making the move from Oklahoma to DC to serve our great state,” said Lankford. “Their experience serving as interns in my office last summer will help them to be ready to quickly assist all Oklahomans that call the office. If you’re planning a visit to the nation’s capital, they can help you schedule US Capitol tours and provide information on different resources for visitors around DC.”
Bishop is a native of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Her family moved to Tulsa in 2014. She will graduate from Oral Roberts University in May 2018 with a degree in Public Relations. Bishop served as a summer intern in Lankford’s office in 2017.
McMillan graduated from Northeastern State University in 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science. He interned in the summer of 2017 with the offices of Lankford and Congressman Markwayne Mullin (R-OK). McMillan is a native of Tahlequah, Oklahoma.
Oklahomans that would like assistance with their visit to DC, making a flag request, or for general questions can call Lankford’s offices in DC and Oklahoma or visit www.lankford.senate.gov.
