Senator Lankford Meets with Small Business Nominee Linda McMahon

WASHINGTON, DC – Senator James Lankford (R-OK) today met with Linda McMahon, President Donald Trump’s nominee to serve as the Administrator of the Small Business Administration.

“It’s through entrepreneurship and small business that the American dream comes alive,” said Lankford. “In the last eight years, small businesses have been faced a tough reality with numerous burdensome regulations that jeopardize the dream for too many. Linda McMahon is a proven, successful business owner who is focused on helping provide access to the resources needed to grow businesses. I look forward to supporting Linda when her nomination reaches the full Senate.”

McMahon is a co-founder and former CEO of the World Wrestling Entertainment, which she grew from a 13-person business to 800 employees worldwide. She is widely known as a top female executive and currently serves as the CEO of Women’s Leadership LIVE.

McMahon was approved by the Senate Small Business and Entrepreneurship Committee on Tuesday, January 31, 2017.

Lankford chairs the Senate Subcommittee on Regulatory Affairs and Federal Management. He has proposed multiple regulatory reform bills to reduce burdensome regulations on American business owners, such as the Smarter Regulations Through Advance Planning and Review Act, the Early Participation in Regulations Act, and the Principled Rulemaking Act of 2015.
