Senators Lankford, Inhofe, Congressman Mullin Meet With New Muskogee VA Director

WASHINGTON, DC – Senators James Lankford and Jim Inhofe (R-OK), along with Rep. Markwayne Mullin (OK-02) today met with Mark E. Morgan, the new director of the Eastern Oklahoma Veterans Affairs (VA) Health Care System, which encompasses the Jack C. Montgomery VA Medical Center in Muskogee, and released the following statement:

“It was a pleasure to meet with the new Muskogee VA Director Mark Morgan and discuss how to raise the standard of care for our veterans. We look forward to working with Director Morgan to restore transparency, accountability and the highest quality of service – all what our veterans deserve. The men and women who have served in uniform have sacrificed to protect our freedoms. Director Morgan understands our desire to ensure that they are treated with class and dignity at each of our Veterans Affairs facilities.”

On March 10 and 11, Inhofe, Lankford and Mullin met with VA Deputy Sec. Sloan Gibson, who held stakeholder meetings at the Oklahoma VA medical centers. The Members met privately to learn about the feedback Gibson received in his meetings and to discuss next steps for the facilities, which included a promise to address management and appoint permanent leadership at the two Oklahoma VA medical centers.
