Senator Lankford Statement on the Anniversary of Roe v. Wade

WASHINGTON, DC— Senator James Lankford (R-OK) today issued the following statement on the 42nd anniversary of Roe v. Wade and the annual March for Life rally in Washington, D.C.:

“In our Declaration of Independence, the Founders of this great nation declared that everyone is endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, including and especially life. One of our generation’s greatest tragedies is that in the United States of America, we allow elective killing of our children. We must never stop fighting to protect the most basic of all human rights – the right to life.

“I’m grateful for the pregnancy resource centers and adoption agencies around the nation, and the March for Life movement here in Washington, D.C.. These communities do amazing work by promoting a culture of life and compassionately assisting those who face unplanned pregnancies.”

Lankford today attended the March for Life Rally, an annual pro-life event on the National Mall in which thousands of individuals from across the country come together to protect the right to life for all people. This year’s theme is ‘Every Life is a Gift.’ Lankford also spoke at ProLifeCon, a conference of pro-life internet activists at the Family Research Council headquarters.

Lankford is also a Member of the Senate Values Action Team, which serves as a liaison to organizations that are dedicated to advancing pro-family causes and policies.
