WASHINGTON, DC – Senator James Lankford (R-OK) today released the fifth volume of his government waste and solutions report entitled, Federal Fumbles: Ways the federal government dropped the ball. The report lists $383 billion in wasteful and inefficient federal spending. The report also lists solutions to each of the examples of government waste. CLICK HERE to access the report. “My staff and I compile Fumbles throughout the year to expose areas of inefficiency, to challenge other offices to help us look for taxpayer solutions, and to create a to-do list for our own team for the upcoming year,” said Lankford. “Volume 5 highlights some big-picture federal process and spending issues including budget busting budget gimmicks, border security problems, and long-term FEMA issues. We also identify a few smaller instances of government waste that have larger implications as to how the government wastes our tax dollars.

“We succeeded this year by proposing legislative solutions to previous entries, moving bipartisan legislation in Congress, and encouraging the Administration to better serve taxpayers and our dollars. I remain committed to actually solving our federal debt and deficit issues. This is one way my team and I can continue to keep our focus in on real, tangible areas of waste, fraud, and abuse in our government.”
