Lankford Mourns the Loss of Southeast Oklahoma Favorite Son, Rep. Bill Brewster

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Senator James Lankford (R-OK) issued the following statement as he mourns the loss of one of southeast Oklahoma’s favorite sons, former US Representative William K. “Bill” Brewster (R-OK):

“Cindy and I join our state and nation today to mourn the tremendous loss of Bill Brewster and remember his hard work and devotion to Oklahoma and the United States. Bill was a friend and mentor to many around our state, including me, in how to lead with wisdom, life experience, and perseverance. I was blessed to know Bill for many years, and even after he served in the US House of Representatives, he continued to serve our communities, especially in his beloved southeast Oklahoma. Cindy and I pray the Lord’s comfort and guiding hand for Suzie, Karel, and the entire Brewster family as they grieve the loss of their patriarch.”

An Ardmore native, Rep. Brewster served in the House of Representatives in 1991 until 1997 and before that served in the Oklahoma State House of Representatives from 1983-1990. He remained active in state and local politics and civics throughout his life.
