Lankford Opposes Jack Lew to Serve as US Ambassador to Israel

WASHINGTON, DC – Senator James Lankford (R-OK) today issued the following statement after he opposed President Biden’s nominee to serve as US Ambassador to Israel:

“Israel is defending itself against a terrorist organization that is funded by Iran. The Biden Administration has chosen to push a nominee for Ambassador to Israel who negotiated the Iran Nuclear Deal and worked with Iran to circumvent sanctions. We need someone who will hold Iran accountable, call out Hamas, and firmly stand with our ally Israel as they respond to the brutal attacks on innocent people. President Biden needs to send an Ambassador to Israel, but it must be the right person.”
