Senator Lankford Delivers Speech on Senate Floor About Oklahoma Wildfires

WASHINGTON, DC –Senator James Lankford (R-OK) today delivered a speech on the floor of the Senate about the Oklahoma wildfires and efforts to recover from the damage. Lankford and Senator Jim Inhofe toured the damage in and around Woodward on Friday, March 10.

Excerpt:

I’m grateful there are neighbors taking care of neighbors. And I’m proud of the people of Oklahoma who are watching out for each other. As we walk through this, God willing, we’ll continue to be able to hug and take care of our neighbors in the days ahead. I want to tell this Senate and the people of the United States, ‘there’s a wildfire as big as the state of Rhode Island and many people haven’t even heard of it.’ But I can assure you, the folks in Oklahoma have experienced it, and we’ll walk through it together as a nation.
