Senator Lankford Statement On Anniversary Of September 11 Attack

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK— Senator James Lankford made the following statement on the Anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks:
 
“On September 11, 2001, our nation was forever changed. We will never forget that day or the Americans that died at the hand of radical Islamic extremism. From the viewpoint on my Committee assignments, I can tell you that brave men and women in our military, law enforcement and the intelligence community continue to protect us from similar terror threats every day, including today. ISIS and their terror allies continue to actively threaten Americans at home and abroad.
 
“We must remain vigilant against serious terror threats, not only here in America but also at our embassies and bases around the world. The senseless attack on Americans in our diplomatic facility in Benghazi, Libya, September 11th, 2012, was another act of terrorism that we remember today. We must ensure such a tragedy never happens again.”
 
Lankford is the only Member of the U.S. Senate who sits on both the Homeland Security Committee and the Intelligence Committee.
