WASHINGTON, DC – Senator James Lankford (R-OK) today released a special video in honor of Veterans Day to thank the servicemen and women and their families for the sacrifices they make to defend our nation.

A hero is someone who gives their life and their time and their service for something bigger than themselves, to honor other people. That certainly describes our veterans. Men and women who put the uniform on; who stand for our freedoms and our liberties of our nation every day, who have done so in the past and continue to serve that way in the future.
 
We are grateful, as a nation, for the sacrifice you have made. The small group of individuals who stand up for a very large country. For the freedoms and the values that we represent around the world.
 
Thank you, veterans, for what you have done for all of us and what you continue to do. And for the families of veterans, who make an incredible sacrifice as well, we as a nation could not be more grateful to you and how you give your time and your effort in the long, long difficult nights of prayer as you stand beside the veteran that you love so much. Thank you.
